Hospital Stay
For most major plastic surgeries (tummy tucks, breast augmentations, rhinoplasty), you will spend 1 to 2 nights recovering in the hospital under 24/7 nursing care. This ensures your vitals are monitored and pain is managed via IV medication.
Hotel Recovery (Days 3 to 7)
After discharge, you will move to a recovery hotel. You must rest extensively. You will likely wear compression garments, have drains in place (for body surgeries), and experience peak swelling and bruising. You will need to walk around your room gently to prevent blood clots.
The Follow-Up and Fit-to-Fly (Day 7-8)
Around day 7, you will return to the clinic. The surgeon will remove any drains, splints, or external stitches and assess your healing. If everything looks good, you will be issued a "Fit-to-Fly" certificate.
Long-Term Healing (Months 1 to 6)
While you can return home after a week, your body is still healing. It takes 6 to 12 weeks for internal tissues to stabilize, and up to a full year for all residual swelling to resolve and the final shape to settle (especially for rhinoplasty).
